Zabi Wakeely
Co-Founder and Board of Director of Kabul Cultural Council
Zabi Wakeely was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, and immigrated to Canada 25 years ago. After completing high school, he pursued post-secondary education and earned a diploma as a Laboratory Technician in 2006. He has since built a strong professional career in the laboratory field.
Alongside his professional work, Mr. Wakeely has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to community service and humanitarian efforts, particularly focused on expanding educational opportunities for children in Afghanistan. In 2016, he joined Children Without Borders (CWB) as a Service Director, where he played a key role in helping children transition from street labour into formal education.
Mr. Wakeely is also an active member of the Canada Afghanistan Business Council (CABC) in Toronto, where he contributes to strengthening business relationships and supporting community development initiatives.
In addition to his community and advocacy work, Mr. Wakeely is a licensed Real Estate Agent and an entrepreneur. He manages SM Event Hospitality and Logistics Support Inc. and MZ Security Inc., providing reliable services.
