Fakhria Khalid
Co-Founder and Board of Director of Kabul Cultural Council
Fakhria Khalid was born in 1966 in the city of Kabul. After completing her primary and secondary education, she was admitted to the Faculty of Engineering at Kabul Polytechnic University, where she pursued her studies up to the third year. However, the deteriorating security situation in Afghanistan compelled her family to leave the country and seek refuge in Pakistan.
After spending several years in migration, the family eventually immigrated to Canada, where they settled permanently. Despite the hardships of displacement, Mrs. Khalid remained committed to both professional engagement and continuous learning. In 1992, she began her collaboration with Radio Voice of Afghanistan, marking the start of her involvement in media and broadcasting.
Alongside her media work, she continued to invest in her professional development. In 1994, she completed formal training in airline ticketing and travel services, after which she entered the aviation and travel industry professionally.
At present, Fakhria Khalid serves on a voluntary basis as a producer with Omid 24 Television and the Kabul Cultural Council. Through her dedication to media, culture, and community service, she continues to contribute meaningfully to the preservation and promotion of Afghan cultural identity within the diaspora.
